With so many home designs to choose from, settling on only one or two themes can prove to be difficult, especially if you end up liking half of them! Add the growing styles, changing trends and global influences, sorry to say, but you’re in for a major dilemma.

For example, a lot of the eastern European countries are heavily influenced by natural wood, particularly light grain woods. Wooden carvings are quite common in places like Poland and Russia and they are fast becoming used to adorn many walls in US homes.

One of the biggest influences worldwide that has crossed borders is the use of parquet flooring. This wooden floor material is available in different colors, grains and textures hence, it’s not surprising why it is easy to adapt. It can suit any theme. With an area rug to boot, parquet flooring has never looked this good!

At this point in time, modern decor is going through a minimalist phase. Simple pastel shade colors relying on either a subtle blending or outright contrast to impress are the “in thing”. This creates the perfect opportunity for a well chosen rug, or rugs, depending on the size of the room(s), to provide that perfect finishing touch.

A parquet floor for instance, looks great with a shag rug. The sleek look of the floor is also emphasized with a similarly clean looking color of the rug such as white, beige and cream.

But because a real wood parquet floor is just that…..real wood, the best thing to go with it is something in the autumnal colors of nature. Again you are looking for a contrast effect as well as complimentary, so with a light shade of parquet, a darker shade of brown or even a rich burgundy would look stunning. Conversely, with a darker style of parquet, a lighter rug would be more appropriate. A dark rug against dark parquet will only create an overall dark and stuffy like environment whereas a lighter shade will offset against the dark background magnificently and will draw more attention both to the parquet and the rug itself.

Area rugs are available in so many varieties, shapes being one of them. Make the room more pleasing to the eyes with an area rug that is suitable to the room’s size. Circular rugs for example, are ideal for smaller rooms.

For a bigger room, the conventional rectangular rug is perfect. It can easily be a focal piece in the room or a match to a furniture set.

There are times when it is acceptable to stand something on a small rug to give more impact. Typically this could be say; an oblong wrought iron coffee table with a clear glass top. In this instance it is important to match the rug to the shape of the object. So for example, a rectangular coffee table would be perfectly complicated sitting on a rectangular rug, providing of course that the rug is slightly bigger all round than the coffee table. Similarly, a round coffee table would look amazing sat on a larger round rug.

Area rugs are probably the ultimate home decors to have. They complete the interiors and design to perfection.

Decorating with area rugs has never been this easy with these rugs. Be sure to take a look at these orange area rugs and in particular these modern orange area rugs.
