The wall also needs to be strong enough to take the weight of the fire so it’s worth checking this if you’re thinking of having a wall-mounted option.
You could also choose to have a range or similar fireplace, especially if you would like to have a gas or wood-burning one. If you have a gas fire the size of the fire is likely to be controlled by altering the flow of the gas, while if you have a wood fire then a small stove could help to contain the fire. These fires often look very romantic as they are more open than their electric counterparts, and this helps to make them a very popular choice.
