If you’re trying to organize a birthday party for your daughter, you are probably all too familiar with the pressure of wanting to put on the best party possible. Party games are a great way to keep everyone occupied and having fun throughout the duration of your party. Thankfully, there are many ideas for party games, and we’ve listed a few of our favorites below. The challenge is finding games that can suit all your guests, as everyone is different. Hopefully our ideas can help you plan the perfect party!
Dress Up Dressing up is great fun for young girls and can provide many hours worth of entertainment. Try collecting a range of clothing, accessories and or fancy dress and having some fun getting everyone to try stuff on. It’s always fun to end with a fashion show complete with music and catwalk. You could even take things a step further and present prizes for the best dressed, or worst dressed depending on how you see things.
Hunting Treasure Treasure hunts are always great fun, and can make the perfect party game. All you need to do is hide small gifts (sweets, chocolates) around the garden or home, and draw a funny map or give clues as to their locations. It’s a great way of keeping everyone occupied for an hour or so, and it’s also something that everyone can get involved in and enjoy.
Baking There is a risk of this getting messy depending on how many children get involved but baking cakes could be a fun activity. To avoid a culinary disaster, you could purchase products that are simple to make and wouldn’t take long to bake because you don’t want the kids to get restless! Also, give them all mini aprons and chef hats to make them feel like they’re cooking in a restaurant.
Musical Statues Musical Statues is an absolutely classic party game. It provides a great mix of dancing and competitiveness that not many other games can compete with. It’s a really simple game to do, and you can play it almost anywhere you like. All you need is some space and a CD player. Simply put some music on and when the music stops everyone has to stand still. Anyone who doesn’t make it in time is out, and the last one going wins. Simple!
Board Games You might not usually think to play a board game at a children’s party but some youngsters who don’t like to be running around may enjoy taking in a fun board game. Plus, this is a good idea if the kids get a bit tired from running around but still want something to do. Just make sure you pick board games that allow more than 2 players and they’re not too difficult for the children.
Hot Potato This game involves a small ball or a bean bag and the group has to get into a big circle and throw the ball to each other. Put music on in the background and pause it every now and again. The child holding the ball when the music stops is out of the game. This will make the kids throw the ball faster between them and is sure to make them giggle.
