It may not even be necessary to re-do your lawn and change the existing grass. Water dilution might just be enough.
I had Fescue grass for my two Rottweilers, and it seemed relatively hardy until I added the second dog, who prefers to urinate immediately after the first dog and in the same location – thus creating a double load of pee. What a follower! The second dog would probably jump off a cliff just cause the other dog did it first!
I really didn’t feel like redoing my garden because it just had one dried patch, and the rest was full and green. I decided to just give my dogs more water.
Therefore if your beer drinking buddies consumer enough water, you can actually ask them to go pee on the flowers.
Urine is more potent in small, concentrated amounts and this is what can kill the grass. In order to avoid grass burn, dilute the dog urine in water, this may even be used as fetilizer for your lawn.
More Water For Your Dog
Most dogs can live on regular tap water so there’s no need to buy them bottled ones. The challenge lies in ho to make your dog drink more, since dogs usually just drink when they feel thirsty.
Using chicken or beef broth to add flavor to the water is a good trick to encourage them to drink more. You can also give your dog moisture-rich food, ordry food moistened with water. Canned food typically has high water content.
Low Salt, Please
It is important to not add salt or salt substitutes to a dog’s food (to encourage drinking) until after consulting with a veterinarian to make sure that your pet doesn’t have any heart or kidney problems that could be worsened by a high-salt diet. You can tell that your dog has ingested excessive sodium when he starts to resemble a pile of white powder or a stalactite.
Don’t worry that this water increase will be dangerous to your dog. A little more water in your dog’s diet will provide general health benefits for him, besides just the benefit to your lawn. Water is also good for skin and fur, which comes in extra handy if your dog is pursuing an acting or modeling career.
Realize, however, that if your dog drinks more water he will then need to urinate more. This may mean more frequent walks or breaks during the day for a healthy dog. Which means that you will walk a lot more, thus meeting a lot more people and losing a bunch of weight. Forget the dog, this additional water thing is good for you! However, if your dog has an incontinence problem, purposely increasing his water intake could exacerbate leaking. In which case, contact a veterinarian. Or a plumber
